St Augustine's Trade Training Centre

As part of a cluster of three Trade Training Centres in neighbouring precincts, the St Augustine’s Centre focuses primarily on metals engineering and electrical trade training.


Inspired by the work of Italian surrealist painter de Chrico, two counterpointed rhomboid forms nestle into each other, side by side, while an abstracted tree motif was developed on the northern facade, complete with Colorbond ‘leaves’.


The large central volume is cooled through convection ventilation, assisted with large high level motorized louvres. V Arc employed Colorbond’s Coolmax product to the exterior minimize heat gain within the typically hot country Victorian \summers.
